Facial Fat Transfer – What is ITR²?
Injectabe Tissue Replacement and Regeneration involves the injection of your very own fat in order to restore lost facial volume of facial fat. ITR² has been pioneered by Dr Steven Cohen and utilises the Lipocube to process your own fat into three distinct sizes. As we age we lose volume from the skeleton, the fat pads and the skin itself. Using one’s own fat to restore this lost volume in an anatomically precise approach, is both restorative and regenerative.
Am I a good candidate?
The greatest contributors to ageing apart from time are UV light and smoking. The process of facial ageing involves the skull, the fat pads and the skin. All these factors will effect outcome and must always be individually assessed.
What do I need on the day of the procedure?
There is no specific preparation prior to treatment. Recognise that no treatment is always an option. However if you have had any recent skin or dental infections we need to know.
What does the procedure involve?
The aim of Definity Clinic is always to make the procedure as comfortable and as safe as possible. After a detailed pre-planning discussion and consent process, the area to be treated will be cleansed and landmarks identified. Often it will be necessary to numb the face before proceeding with any injectable treatment. Treatment is delivered both by needle and cannula.
What does the recover process look like?
You can expect to resume all normal activities immediately however there may be some mild swelling and small bruising, to be taken into consideration.
Will I look perfect?
There is no magic potion. Results will vary, however you will be made aware of what to expect ahead of time. It often takes a couple of weeks for the final result to be seen.
