Liposuction Melbourne

VASER LIPOSUCTION

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

What is Vaser Liposuction?

Liposuction is a process that first breaks down and then removes a fat layer that sits under the skin. Vaser liposuction has unique advantages over any other method.

What parts of the body are involved?

People most commonly associate liposuction with areas around the tummy and waist. However, problem areas of the body can include arms, back, legs, chin, male breasts, buttocks among others.

Am I a good candidate?

Healthy people are the best candidates for liposuction procedures. Ideally this includes those close to a normal goal weight who have stubborn areas of fat that need to be removed. Not smoking is recommended for all.

Is this a weight loss procedure?

Weight loss and fat reduction are often confused. The liposuction procedure involves removing fat which best improves the look of a particular area of the body.

What happens on the day of the procedure?

All liposuction is undertaken in our accredited day surgery facility. A specialist anaesthetist will provide your anaesthetic care. Our peri-operative nurses provide your care from admission, in theatre, in recovery and at discharge.

What does the procedure involve?

The procedure starts with small stealth incisions. A fluid called Tumescent is injected into all fat layers. Then the Vaser probe is inserted into the fat layer and emitted ultrasound energy gentle loosens the fat cells. The final stage is removing and sculpting the fat layer with a specialised suction cannula.

What does the recover process look like?

You can expect to resume most normal activities within 7 days of the procedure. More strenuous work and gym activities require approximately 3 weeks. During the first post-operative week you will be reviewed Day 1, Day 4, and Day 7. You will be required to wear a compression garment for 6 weeks, 3 weeks full-time and 3 weeks part-time.

Does the procedure leave scars?

The incisions for the procedure are small. Approximately 5mm long. The number of incisions depend on the area of liposuction. They are placed in areas to conceal. Most will fade by 12 months and be very difficult to find.

Will I look perfect?

Everybody is unique. Results will vary, however you will be made aware of what to expect ahead of time. It often takes weeks and months to appreciate the final and full extent of the procedure. The intention is to create the best version of you.
